About Acupuncture

Is Acupuncture Right For Me?
Acupuncture can treat a wide variety of maladies, young and old, which is why I feel that acupuncture is a great health care system for everyone. If you suffer from headaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, or back pain, acupuncture may help where other treatments have failed. According to the World Health Organization, acupuncture can successfully treat allergies, dental pain, menstrual cramps, tennis elbow, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, and asthma. Acupuncture is a great support with outside Counseling to combat addiction of any kind, PTSD and depression.

Research suggests that acupuncture may be particularly helpful in alleviating musculoskeletal pain, or in reducing nausea and vomiting after surgery or chemotherapy or in pregnancy. You might consider acupuncture if you’re experiencing pain but conventional medical treatments aren’t effectively working for you, or if you prefer a more natural, holistic form of healing to taking painkillers or anti-nausea medication in pill form. You should recognize that, like any medical treatment, acupuncture may not be 100% effective in every case realistically, and results vary from person to person.

There are many different kinds of acupuncture, each with its own areas of emphasis, that include auricular (ear) acupuncture, five-element acupuncture, Japanese acupuncture, Korean acupuncture, and trigger-point acupuncture. All are based on traditional Chinese acupuncture, which is still the most commonly practiced form in the United States.

Health Maintenance:
In addition, Acupuncture is also extremely beneficial for general wellness and health maintenance. Many people find that with periodic “tune ups” they feel healthier and happier. Acupuncture works to restore your body’s natural balance and help you to function at your optimum level of health to the best of your body’s capability. Thus, you are less susceptible to illness and better equipped to deal with the stresses of life that come your way.

In Conclusion:
If you are STILL not sure if Acupuncture is right for your case, please call and ask me to set up a time for you for my free 15 minute consultation. I can discuss your condition and what treatment may be the best course for your needs, whether that would include one, or a mixture of different therapies such as Chiropractic, Physical Therapy, Nutritionist, Herbal Medication, Acupuncture, or whether Western Medicine would be best for you. You will have plenty of time to ask questions and decide if Acupuncture is the right choice for your situation.
